Become a Community Champion

There’s a new front in the fight against cancer in Atlantic Canada – and 30,000 individuals are needed to lend a hand. Not to mention, their toenails. We’re hoping you can help by becoming a Community Champion.

The Atlantic Path is part of the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project, a $42-million national study funded by the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer. This study will follow the health of 300,000 Canadians between the ages of 35 and 69 to determine what role lifestyle, the environment and genetics play in the development of cancer and other health issues.

The research is particularly important in the Atlantic Provinces, which have the highest rates of cancer in Canada. Each year, more than 13,400 Atlantic Canadians are diagnosed with cancer and 6300 die of it.
We’re looking for Community Champions to help create awareness of this landmark study and its importance among family, friends, co-workers and others in their community. Specifically, we’re hoping you can help us recruit up to 40 people for a day clinic or 20 people for a half-day clinic from through encouragement, word-of-mouth advertising, and any other means you think would work. We’ll be pleased to lend you a hand.
Your support will make an important contribution to the health of our children – and their children.

To become a Community Champion or to find out more about the role of a Community Champion, please contact Gail Adams, Recruitment Manager at 902-494-1804 or through her email address at:
